Melissa Thal Rhodes, Adult Nurse Practitioner
Melissa Thal Rhodes is an Adult Nurse Practitioner who graduated from UAB Birmingham in 2018 after a career as an ICU nurse for over 20 years. After working as a surgical nurse for 10 years, she transitioned out fo the hospital to work with a plastic surgeon and now utilizes her skills in her results-focused skincare practice. Beyond providing a relaxing environment for her clients and an escape from the daily grind, Melissa helps each of her clients set specific goals, matching her multiple treatments and product options to achieve success. She is certified on Cutera lasers, as well as the Smartxide DOT laser, and Q-switch laser for tattoo removal. Trained by Allergen for both Botox and dermal fillers, she has also completed advanced training in injection techniques. She is a member of the ISPAN (International Society of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Nurses).
Dr. Nicholas Tarola
is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery to enhance the beauty of his patients by providing them with natural and individual results. He believes that an open relationship with each patient is necessary so that goals and expectations can be clearly communicated.

Macy Payne, Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
Macy Payne is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. She received both her BSN and MSN from Cumberland University and her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Herzing University. After working in the Emergency Department for years, she transitioned to Plastic Surgery and discovered her passion to help people look and feel their best. She acquired invaluable skills and knowledge about this specialized work by assisting in the operating room alongside four prominent board-certified plastic surgeons.
Macy is thrilled to bring her experience to Ona Skincare. She recognizes that there is no “one size fits all” treatment protocol as anatomy differs for each person, as does each person’s needs. Her surgical consultation and O.R. experience applies to recognizing each person’s nuances, and staying up-to-date on the latest injection techniques helps her ensure the best result for each individual. She is dedicated to her continuing education and remains an active member of the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses as well as The American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Amanda Ellis, Medical Skincare Specialist
Amanda Ellis is a Nashville native who began working in the medical field in 2002 after receiving her medical assisting certification and completing her phlebotomy training in 2001. She became a licensed aesthetician and for the past 12 years worked in a dermatology office, learning from expert physicians and helping patients improve problematic skin. Her knowledge and experience includes correcting acne, rosacea, and scar refinement, and extends to anti-aging treatments, body transformations, and more.
Her passion for skincare continues to grow and while she truly enjoys treating her clients, she also recognizes the importance of teaching self-care to improve a person’s confidence and overall well-being. Amanda utilizes every opportunity to learn more about skincare and makes sure to stay up-to-date with the latest technology on treatments. She looks forward to sharing her expertise with the clients at Ona and taking their skincare to the next level.
