Whole Body Cryotherapy
What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy, or Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC), is a treatment where the body is exposed to ultra-low temperatures ranging between -200°F and -256 °F. Clients step into the cryogenic chamber for a duration of 30 seconds to 3 minutes. For more than three decades, this treatment has been used in Japan and Europe. Athletes who utilize ice packs or even ice baths, following strenuous exercise have discovered that WBC is a powerful and more comfortable modality to decrease recovery time and increase athletic performance. The body responds to cold temperatures by increasing metabolism and vasoconstriction. This results in the vasodilation of blood vessels, increasing oxygen to the tissues and releasing natural anti-inflammatories as well as endorphins or “feel good” hormones.
What To Expect During Your Cryotherapy Treatment
During your cryotherapy treatment, you’ll step into our state-of-the-art cryogenic chamber for 30 seconds to three minutes. At this time, your body will respond to cold temperatures by increasing metabolism and vasoconstriction. This results in an increase of oxygen to the body as well as endorphins or “feel good” hormones.
