Before you get laser hair removal, there are a few things you need to know.

If you are looking to get rid of unwanted hair for good, then there’s no better option than laser hair removal. However, the laser hair removal procedure is not as straightforward as many people seem to think, and there are many things you should know before scheduling a treatment:

#1. You won’t be smooth after just one session.

Typically, it will take anywhere from five and nine sessions to experience the permanent hair removal you are looking for. This is because your hair follicles don’t all have the same growth cycle, and by getting laser hair removal every four to six weeks, you have a better chance of removing most follicles.

#2. We will test a patch of skin first.

Not everyone’s skin reacts to laser hair removal in the same way. To avoid discoloration, scarring and pigmentation problems, we will test out a small patch of skin before your laser hair removal session.

#3. You should shave before your appointment.

Unlike waxing, where you need plenty of hair to grab onto, you shouldn’t be hairy when you come in for your laser hair removal appointment. However, since laser hair removal targets hair follicles, you shouldn’t wax before getting laser hair removal, since waxing removes the follicle. Your best bet is to shave the day before your appointment.
