  • How long does the hair need to be to wax?

Typically it should be 1/4 inch long or the length of a grain of rice.

  • How long before hair reappears after waxing?

Generally between 3 and 8 weeks. Less hair regrows and it is generally finer. Eventually some hair never regrows.

  • Is there anything that should be avoided prior to waxing?

Users of Retin-A, Renova, Differin or Accutane as well as recent chemical peels are advised not to use waxing on the face as these medications tend to weaken the skin and tearing of the skin may occur when the wax is removed.

  • Is there anything I should do after waxing?

Exfoliate the skin using a Loofa sponge or other exfoliation accessory between one and two days after waxing. This gets rid of dead skin and helps prevent ingrown hairs. Repeat this the day before coming in to repeat the waxing experience to free any trapped hairs under the skin.
